The State of Kansas requires anyone wanting to get a concealed carry permit to take an 8-hour Kansas Concealed Carry class. The class must be taught by an approved instructor and cover specific topics.
This class meets all of the requirements as set out by the state and can be done in a manner that best fits your needs. To find an open enrollment class check out our schedule here.
We also offer this class to small groups and organizations in a format that fits your needs:
- In your home – host 6-15 friends in your home and schedule the shooting qualification for later
- In the community -your organization or business can host a class in your space with the shooting qualifications held later
- At the range – private concealed carry classes are available at the range for groups of 7-20
- One 8-hour class or two 4-hour classes – we’re all busy, break up the class into shorter sessions.
*The cost will vary depending on location. Classes not done at the range may incur additional range fees for individual attendees.
How to apply:
After you complete the class, and pass both a written and shooting qualification, you will be given the paperwork to apply for your permit.
To apply you will need to contact your county sheriff’s office to schedule a time to complete your fingerprints. Take your training certificate and completed application (provided in class) with you to the appointment. There will be a fee for the fingerprints, but KS does not charge a fee for the permit. Once your permit is approved you will receive a letter with instructions on picking it up from your local driver’s license station.
Remember to renew your permit on time or you will have to retake the class and apply again!
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions on how to prepare for class.
