Youth gun safety is one of the most important things we train on. The training we offer is twofold and addresses both safety and an introduction to the shooting sports.
Youth and Family Gun Safety
Youth and Family Gun Safety is a non-shooting class that teaches youth what to do if they find a gun or if a friend brings a gun to school. We teach the main tenants of the Eddy Eagle Program; stop, don’t touch, run away, tell a grownup without using the specific program.
This class is 1-hour long and can be done in your home, business, school, or community location. We strive to keep the cost affordable to help get this information to as many people as possible.
First Shots for Kids
This introductory class is appropriate for youth ages 8-16. The class includes safety training, how to maintain and manipulate a firearm, the fundamentals of shooting, and a live fire session on the range. Each youth must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (the fee includes 1 child and one parent).
We train using .22 handguns – there are a limited number available for use during class. Please contact us in advance to make sure one is available. The National Shooting Sports Foundation sponsors First Shots and helps keep it affordable for families. They provide ammunition, targets, and take-home resources for the kids.
Information on available open enrollment classes can be found on the schedule. You can also contact us to set up a training for your group or family.
